Hi Ladies,
I currently see a GYN who is affiliated with Bolingbrook Adventist. I've heard serious rumors about the care provided at Bolingbrook and since seeing this doctor and having a LEEP at Bolingbrook, I believe the rumors are true. (Sorry to say and don't mean to offend anyone.)

Can anyone recommend a GYN in Plainfield, Naperville, Shorewood or Joliet? If you could also state how many visits you've had with the GYN and what network they are affiliated with it would be very helpful.

Thanks you all in advance!

I highly recommend Dr. Joe Martin or Maryann Phillippi with DuPage Medical group. They are both awesome. All of the doctors within this obstetrics practice are great from what I've experienced and heard. I have seen Dr. Martin the past 5 years and more recently have seen Phillippi for my pregnancy. I've seen several of the other doctors at RollingRidge due to the pregancy and have liked them all. Martin really takes his time with you and is kind and compassionate. Phillippi is just as much those things, has a great sense of humor to relax you, and very thorough as well. I see them most of the time at the RollingRidge office (Rte 59 and 103rd at Naperville/Plainfield area). They are affiliated with Edward or Central DuPage Hospital.

I use Dr Pourtabib in Naperville. He is in office building adjacent to Edward Hospital and has delivered many babies over the years - very experienced. His partner - Dr Rigali is now retired and is the one who delivered all three of my kids but Dr Pourtabib would have been his backup. His phone number is ###-###-#### and you can ask him about the networks he is in. I use him for well women checkups and continue to see happy pregnant ladies in his office. I have been to see him as the backup person for each of my pregnancies and every year for well women care.

I use Women's Center for Health in Naperville. Dr. Josupait and the rest are affiliated with Edward Hospital. There are a few locations including Naperville, Plainfield, and Bolingbrook. The docs are wonderful and most of the support staff are wonderful, but there are a couple of doozies. Overall though, I love the docs there!

I go to Women's Health group (Anderson Group), they deliver out of Edward's. They have offices in Plainfield, Bolingbrook, and Naperville.

The support staff does not have a good bedside manner and can be quite rude. The doctors however are not and are excellent medically. I stay for the that but I do get annoyed with the support staff.

EDIT: I go the same group as MommyP and I agree that Dr. Josupait is awesome.

I have two recommendations for you.
Dr Russ Khater in Joliet. He accepted United Health Care, but didn't accept the Blue Cross HMO, and he's affiliated with St. Joes & Silver Cross (or at least he was). I can't say enough about Dr. Khater. He was my OB/GYN for 3 years and delivered my first baby. I have never had a better experience with a doctor: great staff, short wait times, awesome bedside manner, really spent time & listened to me, etc. The only reason I left is because my insurance changed to the HMO and he didn't accept it. I actually cried at my last visit with him (didn't help that I was 2 months pregnant with my second child so I was changing mid-pregnancy).

My second recommendation is Dr. Carver & Dr. Chen in Naperville, at Terrace OB/Gyn on the Edwards campus. They take both BCBS and UHC (and maybe others). They are the people who I switched to, and Dr. Chen delivered my second child. Because it's only a 2-doctor practice, you see both doctors and get to know each pretty well. The staff there is also very nice, and the doctors are very good. A few of my friends had high risk pregnancies with them, and they're very capable. Not quite as awesome as Dr. Khater, but definitely a good alternative.

Hope this helped. Good luck!
