I wholeheartedly recommend the Summer Infant Night/Day color video monitor. We've had it for more than two years with no complaints. The night time video is clear (and b/w) and in daytime it's in color. It has a really good range (I can take the monitor all the way to the end of the front yard before it fades out) and colored lights also tell you how much noise registers (from green to orange to red). It's a great monitor and worth every penny!

I have used the Safety 1st monitor for the past 5+ years... Good size monitor with very adjustable camera. Great night time picture and includes portable audio monitor.

I had the Summer video monitor. It had a black & white console base-screen. And a hand held audio clip part. I loved it. I think every mom should have a video monitor!

We have a 1 1/2 year old and have the Summer Infant Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor and have not had any issues with it. Good luck!

We have a 2 year old and 4 year old Summer black and white tv monitor. I personally like the older one better. Once we got our PG&E Smart meters installed we have had interference issues but they still work good. Our room is downstairs and both kids are upstairs so we use them daily. I sleep much better knowing I can turn on the screen to see what they are doing. We keep one monitor in our room and one in the kitchen. We have a basic monitor in the hallway so we can hear them and then we know which camera to switch it to.

The Levana Digital Wireless Video Monitor is the best on the market. It has won all kinds of awards and it has better ratings than Summer Infant. The best part is it is cheaper too - Costco has the best price at $135.
There is no interference, good picture quality, and you can play music remotely from the handset. I have had it since my Baby was born and now 7 months later, it still works as if brand new. I have also heard random strangers or neighbors cannot 'tap into' the video frequency on this monitor.

We also have the Summer Day/Night Color Video Monitor and it's been excellent. Good picture and sound quality and infared for night vision so you can see your little one. It also travels well- I can work in my yard during her naps and still know what's going on inside. I always take it with us when we travel away from home on vacation. I've never has an issue in the 2 1/2 years we've owned it.

I love our Summer Infant brand video monitor. We have the one that looks like a small tv, not the one with the handheld monitor. I liked the bigger screen and didnt have a big enough house to be worth the extra for the handheld. I still use a cheap sound-only monitor for the living area and keep the video next to my bed.

The thing about video monitors is that they will work differently for everyone depending on the layout of your house and what is around you that might cause interference. So you might see one at a friends house that seems great, but the same one at yours could be just static. Keep your receipt that way if the one you choose doesn't work great, you can try a different one. And if it seems to staticky in one spot, try moving both pieces around a little- the part in baby's room and the monitor in yours. But I really like ours. It was right around $100. They carry it at target, walmart and babies r us.
