Have you had your baby yet? What did you choose to do? I have not delivered there, but in 2 months time, I have had 2 nightmare experinces with them, affecting both of my young girls. I hear they know how to treat an adult, but I wouldn't trust them with a baby. Presby Allen was great with the baby- they are not really set up for children either, but they are resourceful & attentive. I hope everything went well for you!

You can actually take tours of both Hospitals if you want, which may help in your decision.

I gave birth to our first son at McKinney, and I didn't have any complaints. My Doctor moved into an office at Presb. Allen, and gave me the option of delivering there. I took the tour (this was when it first opened) and everything looked fine. I delivered my second and third child at Allen. From what my Doctor was telling me was that a lot of the staff moved to Allen (he told me the better staff). Don't know if that is true, since I didn't have any complaints for either hospital. I preferred Allen and that's what made me decide to deliver my 3rd child there.

Good Luck.

Not to long ago a child just died there because they messed up the anesthesia, and I heard other complains about that hospital...i probably wouldnt go there. I had my baby at Medical Center of Plano, of Coit and 15th. Great hospital!

Allen is fine but I think its a little too small. Go to a trusted place to have a baby! Good luck!

My youngest son was born at McKinney Medical Center in December 2003. My only complaint was that they did not have a lactation consultant on staff and my son and I struggled with breastfeeding even though I had breastfed his older brother successfully. The nurses were nice and tried to help, but they gave me conflicting information. I ended up having to hire a LC at my own expense to help us out. They might have one on staff there now though, and my ped has hired one on his staff since then too. But you might want to check into that if it is something that is important to you.

LOVED Allen Presby. Great nurses, very helpful and attentive. There was one nurse that I didn;t like (I had been in twice before giving birth) and I let them know I did not what her, and they made sure she stayed away. You get to stay in the same room the whole time. I really liked it,

I had our son at McKinney in 2005 and wasn't looking forward to it simply b/c I had heard 'not so professional' things - not great bedside manners, etc. but I was happy with everyone BUT one nurse, who I asked not to be assigned to me or our son and they respected that. I got to keep our son in our room the entire time and no one argued - he was on the blue lamp for a day b/c of jaundice and they just moved it into my room :)
