Hi ladies! I'm hoping you all can point me in the right direction. I am currently 29 weeks along and things are not working out at my current OB practice (south cobb obgyn). I need to find a new provider asap. I would prefer to deliver at Cobb because it is so close to my home, but I would consider switching over Kennestone. I am looking for someone who has a good bedside manner, and listens to his/her patients, has
courteous office staff, and reasonable wait times in office as well. Anything you can tell me about your experiences is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much for your responses! After carefully considering your suggestions and the suggestions of people I know in the area, I made an appt at Marietta OBGYN Affliliates. I am sooo glad I did! What a wonderful experience - so different than what I have experienced in the past! I did question myself a little for switching so late in the game, but it is definitely worth it and now I am in the care of doctors whom I believe are loving and really looking out for my best interests. It's so good to breath a sigh of relief! I'm 36 weeks along today, so it could literally be any day now!! Thank you all for taking the time to respond! -A.

Dr. Angela Hudson (Austell)....she delivers at Cobb and is WONDERFUL! If you are worried about wait times, I would make a morning appt. I had a complication late in my pregnancy and she was VERY prompt in helping to correct it. I have used her for all three of my deliveries and wouldn't want anyone else to deliver one of my babies.

I love my OB. Her name is Paula Greaves and works out of Kennestone hospital. I've gone to her for years. She's compassionate and cares about her patients. Here's her number ###-###-####.

My recommendation is Dr Elizabeth Street's practice. I have seen Dr Street and currently I am seeing Dr Laura Cauthen. Both are wonderful with great bedside manners. They put you at ease. They are at Kennestone. I am seeing Dr Cauthen for gyn problems, not for pregnancy, but I can tell she would be great at anything ob/gyn related. She actually makes her on return phone calls when you call with a question. The office staff is friendly and helpful. All the doctors are female, that is a plus to me.
I hope this is helpful to you.

I liked Wellstar OB ###-###-#### across street from Kennestone. I went with midwives and had more success there delivering without drugs than I did trying at Northside with Atlanta ABGYN.

I will say I did place Kennestone out of their "comfort zone" by not taking the epidural, walking to the delivery room and telling the nurses I would not deliver starting from a lying down position -- I did both deliverys with major back labor -- but they performed upon request, where the other OB and hospital continued to harass me.

Just as you're doing now, be strong, know what you want and demand it -- it's your patient's right! And congratuations:)

Dr Mindy Fine is great she is affiliated with Cobb and she is located in the Vinings. Bellow is her information she also works with a Nurse Practioner who I thought was great too well I hope this helps you out alot and if you do use her let me know how she worked out for you. If those are the things you are looking for I am sure her office can assist you as. Since I only work part time the had to work around my crazy working times and I never had to wait to long in the office. M. B.

I delivered at Kennestone in November and had SUCH a great experience. I used the Marietta OB-Gyn Affiliates ###-###-####) which are located in a building right next to the hospital and has a great group of doctors. At the practice you don't see just one doctor - you visit them all because you don't know who will be on call when you go to deliver. Initially I really wanted Dr. Taghechian or Dr. Alarcon to deliver my baby but I ended up having an emergency c-section and Dr. Bauer was on call. He was a little more serious and not as "lovey-dovey" as the others but in that situation he was the ideal doctor for me. Aside from the doctors the recovery nurses in the hospital were FANTASTIC!! I would recommend having your baby at Kennestone to anyone! Good luck!
