I Need a Pediatrician in Rochester

My siblings and I actually went to Dr. McCoy at Olmsted as children (I started seeing her when I was 11) and my mom swears she's the absolute best! From what I can remember, she was very kind and patient. I think it says a lot when the kids/patients AND parents like her.

I was NOT impressed with Dr. Arndt. He wouldn't listen to me and wrongly diagnosed my 4-month-old baby as having a milk allergy (without running any kind of test) when it turned out he had asthma. We figured it out a few weeks later when I took him to a different pediatrician; she knew what the wheeze meant immediately and he ended up needing three prescriptions and a nebulizer to get it under control.

I take my kids to the Olmsted Medical Center's Northwest clinic (across from Timberlodge). Both Dr. McCoy and Dr. Arndt are wonderful, though Dr. Arndt can be a bit snippy with parents (he's fantastic with the kids though, which is all I care). There are a few other locations, though I've never brought my kids to those. Hope you find someone who fits your family, and welcome to Rochester! :)

I took my daughter to Dr. McCoy at OMC NW Clinic and LOVED LOVED LOVED her. She is just wonderful with the kids and even makes me smile! We are now at Mayo and I really like Dr. Amy Barton in Community Pediatrics. (Baldwin 3). She is not as warm with the kids as Dr. McCoy but is very knowledgable and listens to our concerns and then addresses them in the way we are most comfortable.

When we were at Olmsted, we used Dr. KRISTIN Arndt, and thought she was great. (I think her and Peter Arndt are brother and sister...). We now go to Mayo and have a family med doc, and love that. But I think with a first child, it's nice to have a pediatrician.
