Trying to Figure Out What to Do About Occasional Daycare

I am a SAHM that works at night as a coach and during the HS volleyball season I have practices starting around 1:00pm and can last until 9ish at night (DH can pick her up at 6:00). Our little one has never been to daycare, but I think it would be nice to have her go somewhere a couple days a week to socialize and for me to take some mommy time away. My husband now works from home or we get grandma to help out and it is great, but I think she could use some time with other little ones since she is our only child right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on somewhere she can go T/Th or M/W/F for all day or half day? We live in Allen, but I work in Carrollton so Allen, Carrollton, Plano or anything close would be great. Thanks in advance

What can I do next?

Kiddin Around or Adventure Kids both have locations in West Plano. They are both hourly drop in centers and have later and flexible hours. I have used the Adventure Kids in Flower Mound and been happy with them.

You could also check out a Mothers Day Out Program if you are looking for mornings. A few have summer camps that might work out for you. I use the one at Christian Life Assembly in Carrollton, and they do have a summer camp that will start registration in March. http://www.clife.org/

Hi A.!
Have you ever tried Kiddin' Around? I know there are locations in Frisco and Coppell (there may be others, too). We use it occasionally for our two sons (age 8 and 19 months). Depending on how old your daughter is, you may or may not have to make a reservation. For older children, it's drop in daycare. They are open Monday-Saturday. I only have positive things to say about them.

The S.S. Noah is similar to Adventure Kids and is in Allen right behind Stacy Furniture at Hwy 75 & McDermott. We've been using them for years for occassional childcare and have been very happy with them. My boys love to go there and call it the "special playplace".

I take my kids to Adventure Kids Playcare. They have several locations one in Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Dallas, Southlake and Flower Mound. They are a drop in facility, so no reservations needed. They recommend reservations on busy nights like Fridays and Saturdays. There is an initial registration fee, then after that you just pay for the time and meals if needed. You can take them to any of the facilities once they're registered. Their pricing has recently changed, but it's somewhere around $7.50 per hour with meals around $4. They feed your child snacks too. They have lots of activities including crafts, dress up and more.

KidzTime in Southlake. My 2 year old daughter has been going there on and off when needed for the last year and she never comes home in a bad mood! It's in Southlake Town Square.

Oh, sorry, I just saw where you live. There is a place called Adventure Kids in Dallas that is similar, which might work for Carrollton. There are several of these places popping up around though-hourly playcare.

There are also church mother's day out programs that are part-time.
