I'm looking into purchasing a deep freezer or spare fridge.
Does anyone have suggestions about models? or types?
Do you have one and hate it? Love it?

I have a upright freezer in addition to our regular frig. I love my frig -it is a Whirlpool side by side. I do wish that my spare one in the garage was a refrigerator/ freezer combo. I think the extra frig space would be great in addition to some extra freezer space.
I have a Hotpoint fridge (about 12 yrs old) in my laundry room which has all the drinks, water, etc. It is just a small fridge that we used in the garage of our other home before we built this one.
My freezer is a chest type (FROST FREE IS A MUST) Kenmore from Sears. It stays in the garage (on the special outlet). Most garages do have a special outlet because a lot of people have a fridge or freezer in the garage.
I like the chest type freezer because I KNOW the door is closed. Sometimes, a door will not fully close and I would not want my things to spoil. The chest type fit better in our garage as well. We have a 3+ car garage and there is still plenty of room for everything.
Not sure about specifics, but make sure your garage (or wherever you put it) is wired for an appliance. You shouldn't use just a regular outlet as it can overload it.
