Hi all! I was wondering for those with kids and stainless appliances, where do you place their magnet toys, such as leap frog fridge magnet series?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for your feedback...exactly what I was looking for...I don't mean to solicit, just conducting some local surveys...but I created a product called CHOOPABOARD...which is a magnet board with really strong suction cups. I use it on my cabinets in the kitchen which are wood (not fomica) and that gives the kids a GREAT place to play with all their magnet toys. www.choopaboard.com , again, I don't mean to solicit my patent pending product, but wanted to put it out there to see what others were doing. Thanks for your VALUABLE replies!

well if the sides are exposed you can use the sides, if not I bought the chalkboard/magnetic board from Pottery Barn Kids, they hav eit in small or large. It is both a chalkboard & a magnetic board, my kids love it.

Also at any hardware or home improvement store they sell magnetic paint. You can paint a square and out some kind of border around it. Good luck!!

Here is an idea you can purchase a chalk board and hang it on the wall (they are magnetic) OR you can purchase "chalkboard paint" and it turns anything you paint with it into a chalkboard such as a closet door? Good luck!

Also not sure if all of your appliances are stainless steel but your dishwasher and stove could be used also (they are magnetic too!)

Florida fire codes require a fire door to the garage, and in our case, the fire door is steel and off the kitchen.

Our 2 and 5 year old have claimed both sides of it.

Our front doors are metal so we let our son put his art work up on them with magnets as well as his Word Whammer and Fridge Phonics set. Another option is to get a magnetic board and hang it on the wall in your child's room.

At my mom's house, she puts all her magnets on the sides (it doesn't leave much room because the fridge is pretty tight in there, but if you have space where the kids can reach, you can put them on the sides.

Mine is magnetized on the side and one of the sides is accessible. Also, my AC air handler is in my laundry room and is magnetic.

As an interior designer I can give you a little tip for those magnets. You can tape off a section of your childs wall and paint it with magnetic paint. If you want you can also paint over the magnetic paint with your wall color to hide the grey paint. It will still be magnetic. You can then if you want paint a decorative boarder around it so your child knows where the play space is. Kids love it and it gives them a bigger space to play with! My child had a chalk board and a magnetic board on her play room wall and would stay busy for hours. Hope that helps!

My mother in law used an old cookie sheet that she had painted as a gift to us (she painted it black, I'd try white, unless you can find black non-toxic paint, which she did). The trays can be used in the car, at the table, anywhere you want. BTW, glad to see you're married to your best friend, and take such delight in your children. (I feel the same about mine)

We had the same problem - only some magnets stick. For some reason the leap frog fridge thing sticks, but not the letters and numbers. I have this metal linen closet door that I hate and was going to replace with a wood one. When I found out that the letters stuck to it and it was entertaining for my son, I just left it.
