Seeking a Great Health Food Cafe

Hi Dawn-
I just moved here from Austin 1 1/2 years ago and definitely miss the food and the atmosphere. One place we've enjoyed is Obzeet (on Preston just South of the George Bush Tollway). The atmosphere reminds me of Shady Grove and it has great pitas, sandwiches and salads. And if you're in the mood for desserts, they are amazing. It's an eclectic and relaxed place to go. There's a great place in the Quadrangle (uptown) area of Dallas called Dream Cafe. There's another location in Addison - haven't been to that one...but they serve the same food, same atmosphere, I'm told. www.thedreamcafe.com
That place is great....there's even nice outdoor patio seating with a little playhouse and jungle bars for the kids to play on while you eat on the patio. [the dallas one]

Most of the menu is healthy foods -- whole wheat pancakes; brown rice, black beans, egg whites, etc. Really great food!! Very tasty!!

Try a Whole Foods (I think they have prepared meals) or maybe Eatzi's (uptown).

There's also a sandwich shop inside a grocery store called Sprouts - there's one location in Plano off of Coit and Legacy. I've been to both Dream Cafe and COsmic Cafe - you'd love it! I'm from CA and have a bit of a hippie streak myself.

If you like salads, there's also a restaurant called Greenz in the uptown area, off McKinney. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds yummy.

Try Dream Cafe, it fits your description to a T. Great healthy food and great outdoor seating, at least at the Dallas location, which is at the Quadrangle. The have a huge lawn with a castle for kids to play in and run around. There is also one in Addison but I have never been there. You can go to guidelive.com to get the address of each location.

Have you heard of Dream Cafe? It is over in Addison I believe. Their food is awesome and they have vegetarian and you can add meat to some of them if you prefer. I can't remember exactly where it is located but you can probably check yahoo yellow pages to find it. It had a very nice atmosphere and I do believe they have outdoor seating.

Cafe Express is pretty good too, although I am not sure what vegetarian dishes they have outside of their salads and black bean soup.

I just tried the new Masala Wok, a new Indian cafe here in Frisco today. It was VERY good and they had several dishes that were vegetarian.

My only other suggestion is the Cafe at Whole Foods or Central Market. There is a Whole Foods in Plano, Richardson and Dallas I believe. Central Market is off of Coit and George Bush.

I know exactly what you're talking about! We had a place like that back home in Florida. I was going to suggest Whole Foods or Central Market.

There is a great place called Cafe Brazil - it actually started here and their are several locations. They have a great veggie sandwich with cream cheese, sprouts, avacados, tomatoes and more. I'm not sure it's exactly what you are looking for. But, Jason's Deli is very nice. They say everything on the menu is organic.
