Parenting Books and Guides

Well, this is a late response, but I really like the 'Positive Discipline" series. They offer great advice, and it took quite a bit of stress away when I started consistienly using their approach. It's easier than anything else I've tried! :-)

I've used the "Baby Wise" books...they are great!

Parenting with Love and Logic is a great one and many schools offer free parenting classes to the public based on that book.

James Dobson has some good ones too, Dare to Discipline.

The Mother of All Toddler books.

I have read a couple books, but I prefer the magazines (much more interesting!) I actually have come to really look forward to recievingt my Partents magazine!

The Ames and Ilg series is the best! (Your 1 yr old, Your 2 yr old, etc.) They're a quick read and always seemed as if they were written specifically with my kids in mind.

The "What To Expect ..." series. It's not just expecting anymore; they have one for the first year, toddler years, all the way up to teenagers. It gives alot of health, development, social and behavioural advice. Also, it informs you what is normal and when you should talk to a professional regarding certian issues.
