My son is getting baptized in a few weeks and I need a christening suit. Anyone know where I can find an inexpensive one or even second hand? They are $90 at babies r us!?!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I ended up finding a very cute one for $30 at a little store in Great Falls called Grandmother's Back Room. I tried many of the suggestions you all sent though, thanks for the input!!

I found one for my son at the following website - they have a ton to choose from in different price ranges. Very happy with the shipping and service and the suit is beautiful! I received so many compliments on it.

Best of luck.

If you have a Burlington Coat Factory near you, they may have some for you. You can also check online.

Try Burlington Coat Factory. That's where we got my daughter's christening gown.

When I was buying clothes for my daughter I got a lot of good bargains on EBay. Try that and see where it leads you. :-) Good Luck!

Hi,

We are strapped for money quite often, I shop at consignment shops, good will, salvation army, yard sales for things that are in good shape. We also have close out stores IE: Gaberials Brothers in our area that sell them at rock bottom prices. I hope this helps. Good Luck in your search!

eBay!!!! You can get just about anything on eBay. When my niece was Christened, her godmother bought her a gorgeous gown on eBay for only $40 - the same one in the stores was over $150.

Hey S.....they have really nice Christening
outfits at JC Penney's. They are not that expensive
at all...maybe around $30 - $50. We bought one for my
son who was also born in July....2004.

Good Luck! Enjoy every minute with him...they grow so fast.

Good Luck on a second hand one...people usually keep these for keepsakes ;)Anyhoo, when I was looking for a "coming home" outfit for my daughter,I saw plenty of the christening outfits at Peebles in Colonial Heights and also at Hechts(I know they are now Macy's but maybe they still run some pretty good specials?!)Places like Babies 'R Us are generally alot higher on prices 'cause they are 'specialty" stores.I don't recall seeing ANY at Kohls, but heck, give it a try you may get lucky. Also try going on the stores website to see if they have them before trecking out,but then again sometimes these particular 'items' are in-store only,Good Luck,R.
