Looking to Adopt Again

Hello all!

I have known since the age of 16 that I would never be able to have children due to many health problems I had at a young age. When my husband and I were so blessed to adopt my twins six years ago, it was the most amazing thing I ever did. They are my life and I thank God for them everyday. We would like to add another infant to our family within the next year or so. The twins' adoption was an open adoption and an unusual situation. I am looking for advice from others who have adopted and know of reputable adoption services, agencies or programs that we can look into. Thank you in advance to all who take the time to reply! God bless!

What can I do next?

I don't know where you live, but,we adopted 4 years ago and used Angel Adoptions in Pelham Alabama. LOVE THEM!!!!Suzanne Peden was great and helped throughout it all. We were fortunate in that it was not a long process at all.

Can't give you an information about reputable agencies or progams, but I am an adoptee and think that it's wonderful that you are willing to adopt children. I was adopted before open adoptions were an option, so I know nothing about my biological history. I think it is strong of you to have done an open adoption, and I am sure it must have been unusual at times, but I think many adopted children are naturally curious about their biological history, and open adoptions give them an opportunity to learn about that. Anyway, good luck with the future adoption!

They have an awesome reputation.

I was adopted when I was 12. I think it is great that you are willing to give children a second chance at life. I hope you have a new baby soon!

Hi Lee.
Six and a half years ago, I placed my daughter for adoption. When I found out that I was pregnant, I was directed to Bethany Christian Services. Through them, I made the best decision for my daughter and myself. I suggest contacting a Bethany office near you. They are very strict about who can become adoptive parents and the birth mothers (and fathers if they are a part of the mother's life) decide who will adopt their child, but in the end, it is very worth it.
Good Luck and God Bless You!

What a wonderful thing you are doing by adopting. :) My husband and I plan on adopting a little girl from China, but we have to wait until we are both 30 (country requirement). I'm only 27 right now, so 3 more years until we can start. Best of luck to you with the adoption.

Hi! I just wanted to tell you how wonderful I think it is that you and your husband want to adopt again. My oldest was adoped (at age 4) through the state of Oregon, and once we get settled in Savannah we would like to adopt again. We will more than likely go through the foster care system, though, as finances are tight and we feel called to adopt children already in the U.S. -- People don't understand our desire to adopt again, especially considering the fact that we have triplets, but that's OK. Only those who have ever adopted know just how amazing, special, and such a joy it is!! Anyhow - your post caught my eye being a mom of multiples myself and also an adoptive mother. I would love to keep in touch!!

Lee, I have a little girl who is adopted from Korea, We adopted her when she was about 5 months old. She has been a true blessing and we couldn't imagine our lives without her. We used and agency out of Maryland called ASIA, adoption services information agency. They were fabulous and we highly recommend them, good luck, A.

Hi Lee!

My husband and I are in the process of adopting right now. Approved and WAITING!! UGH! We are going though Gladney Center for Adoption. They are based out of Fort Worth, Texas, but are also licensed in various states throughout the US, including NC. They are really a wonderful orgnaization that focuses on the birth mother and the adoptive parents alike. They have a campus where the girls can live if they choose and it is truly an outstanding facility. They can continue their education there and receive medical care and counseling. The birth mothers are given portfolios of potential adoptive families so that they can choose who takes care of their baby (or babies in your case!) They have international and domestic adoption services with varying degrees of openness between the birth mother and adoptive parents. The website is www.gladney.org hope this helps!! Please write again if you need more info. J. D. Cornelius, NC
