How Is Sequioa Hospital Labor and Delivery in Redwood City?

I am planning to deliver my baby at the Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City. I've actually never been to the hospital, and my OB-GYN delivers there. Can someone tell me what their experience was like delivering there? Their nursing staff and anesthesiologist? Just curious to hear some stories.

What can I do next?

Congrats on your upcoming arrival. :) I agree whole heartedly with the previous poster. I had my son there in Oct 07 and I couldn't have been happier with the treatment. The nurses durning labor and delivery were very comforting and helpful. The nurses after during my stay were fantastic as well from helping me shower the first time (which isn't as easy as it would seem) to helping us with our baby in the middle of the night when us, first time, sleep deprived parents weren't sure what to do. Good luck and enjoy your new baby. :)

It is the best. I have had all four of my girls there and all four experiences have been great. So good, that I wouldn't have minded staying longer :). The staff is so caring and supportive. Good luck to you!!!

I had my 2 girls at Sequoia Hospital, and all went very well, much better than my first at stanford hospital.
The view is very peaceful, awaking to the mist in the redwoods the first morning with the little one was a kind way of starting our time together.
The nurses were attentive and skilled. I had a all female team,,event he anesteslogist had kids....
I had an induction where I came in at 6 am and had the baby at 4 pm. All my kids 8 + lbs , and my last was at age 40.
Best Wishes,

I had all 3 of my babies at Sequioa (the last one only a week and a half ago!). All three experiences were great. The first was an emergency c-section, the second a vbac, and the third a planned c-section. I always felt well cared for and all of the staff has been very friendly. I have been especially impressed with the lactation staff that comes in to help with nursing (if you choose this route). The anesthesiologists have always been great. I actually live in Sunnyvale and still chose Sequioa hospital for the last two kids births.

I wholeheartedly agree with all the previous posts. I had both my babies at Sequoia and was very pleased. Both babies were unplanned c-sections, and both arrived early. My youngest one was 6 weeks early and had to stay in the NICU the first two nights. My point being - even with all of these obstacles, my experiences were wonderful. Good luck!

BTW - I was also born at Sequoia almost 40 years ago!
