I'm looking for a new gynie and would like to find someone who is open to a more
holistic approach or simply good communications skills and good listener. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I adore my OB/GYN, Jennifer Schaefer! She delivered my two boys and is a great listener! She's easygoing and always has a calm and reassuring demeanor. I've never inquired about any holistic approaches with her, so don't know about that angle. There are three other doctors in her office (OB/GYN Assoc.) who are also great (my second favorite is Dr. Nakanishi). They have offices in Libertyville and in Gurnee.

I liked the Westmoreland OBGYN group out of Lake Forest hospital. They answered any questions that I had and were very patient with me and concerned since I had a hard pregnancy. They are out of the Westmoreland building near the hospital. I plan on having my second one their too..... Good luck

I go to OB/GYNE of Lake Forest as well and really like the group. I actually go to Dr. Huang and loved her for my GYNE stuff, but am not as happy with the prenatal. She's just very matter of fact (but very professional and great). I like all the doctors in the practice though and would highly recommend them. Their Gurnee office is right off Grand.

Dr. David Preskill is an awesome OB/Gyn. Several of my family members see him. He has delivered my 2 children via C-section. He also did my mother-in-laws hysterectomy. He is an excellent surgeon. He has great people skills. He is a younger doctor who is totally in tune with new procedures.
His number is ###-###-####. His office is in Condell Hospital.
Good Luck!

K.,
Regarding your menopause I am in the same situation. I'm 35 and the symptoms I was experiencing made me feel like I was going crazy. I visited my gynecologist and after visiting her with her non caring attitude made me think about changing offices. I was so upset! In addition to being emotional about the changes my body was doing to me! I had to deal with an insensitive gyne dr and I cried all the way home from my dr's office.

Anyway, that lead me on a search to resolve my issues on my own. First, I came across womentowomen.com and their supplements have helped tremendously.
Second, just recently I found a book by Ann Louise Gittleman titled, Before the Change:Taking charge of your Perimenopause. In the book she gives suggestions on alleviating symptoms by taking nutritional supplements. A MUST read for all women at this stage in life. I have made a few trips to my health food store.............

Good luck!

As others, I also love my OB/GYN group! They are the OB-GYNE Associates of Lake Forest (offices in Gurnee on Brookside and also in Lake Forest in the group of hospital buildings). My favorites in the group are Dr. Oh, Dr. Heiberger and Dr. Holden - I don't like Dr. Michael Hubbell as much as the other women. Dr. Huang is good, too. THey can be reached at ###-###-#### and all of their information/schooling/credentials are on the practice's website: www.obgynelakeforest.com

I am not aware of specifics regarding holistics through their practice. However, I work for a skincare/wellness company called Arbonne and we have a wonderful product called PhytoProlief Natural Balancing Cream. Arbonne is a swiss company - all products are botanically-based. Let me know if you need any more info - I'm happy to help you out. Feel free to go to www.arbonne.com. You'll find the button "Products" on the upper left of the homepage. Scroll to the "Balance" button and you'll find 2 balancing cream products. Again, let me know if you have questions.

Best of luck to you - D. (____@____.com)
