Cookie Recipe W/o Milk, Soy, Peanut,wheat, Egg White

Hello all!! I just found out that my 21mo old son is allergic to milk (class 4), soy, peanut, wheat & egg whites (class 2). He LOVES chocolate & snacks so Im looking for a good choc chip cookie recipe. I bought carob chips but Im not sure what to do about the flour & egg whites. Theres so many types of flour (rice, graham, barley ,etc) & Im not sure which is best for baking. Any Moms have ideas? I also need other recipes for snacks, cookies, cake, etc. Thanks!!

Look in the book "Special Diets for Special Kids". It's a great cook book for allergies. I don't know any specific recipes, but I do know moms who use that cookbook and their kids love the food and snacks.

At the health food store they sell an egg replacer made my ENER-G. It replaces eggs for baking. And its made from potatoes. Its a powder you mix with water and then add to recipes like you would an egg. Works great.
Ghihardeli choco chips (semi-sweet) are dairy free. I use them in my vegan baking. I'm not sure about soy content, because they has never been an issue for us. So, you may want to double check the bag.

You will have to use a different flour. I've never played around with different flours, so I cant be much help there.
Search for things that are vegan online. That will ensure them to be without dairy and eggs. And you will have to get creative replacing flours and soy.

Super Secret Brownie Recipe

My favorite and only emergency babysitters/best friends made this for us when we came home from the hospital with our son.

They only get more moist and fudgy with time, too. :)

They are good in muffin cups, but also good as a block of Brownies, too.

No oil, no eggs, no milk, except maybe in the mix?

You can find a prepared brownie mix that is done without exposure to peanuts, etc, you do NOT have to use the mix here. I think you can adapt and put the dry ingredients together for brownies, too, any recipe. The pumpkin totally takes the place of all the wet ingredients. They are AWESOME!

2 ingredients:

1 Box Ghirardelli Brownie Mix
1 Can 15 oz pumpkin

Mix.

Muffin cups or a pan. Your choice.

Cook 25 minutes at 325 degrees. If they are not done, check them EVERY 5 minutes thereafter (don't want them to dry totally out or burn).

Here are my random thoughts:

You should probably invest in a cookbook with recipes for people with these allergies. If you can't find one at your bookstore or library, many health food stores carry them.

Also, there are a lot of mixes on the market now that are wheat, gluten, dairy, soy, peanut, and egg white free. Many grocery stores now have special sections for these.

Is he allergic to chocolate? Have you ever had carob? It's good, but not really a substitute for chocolate although it's often suggested as one. You can buy vegan chocolate chips, too. Sometimes regular, mainstream brands are vegan, but don't make a big deal out of it. If the package doesn't say "milk chocolate", it might be vegan. Ghiradelli semi-sweet chocolate chips might be vegan.

If you have not already done so, a conversation with the people at your natural food store will be enlightening and beneficial. A lot of regular grocery stores carry products your son could eat, as well, you just need to read the labels.

You can still make delicious food without these ingredients, but sometimes it takes experimentation since you will be cooking in new ways.

My daughter is allergic to peanuts, eggs, milk, soy and tomatoes.. feel free to message me :) She recently outgrew her wheat allergy.
Cherry brook kitchens mixes are great. They do contain soy lechitin, which is fine for my daughter b/c it does not contain soy protein. The mixes call for dairy free butter.. but they all contain soy. I use light olive oil instead. I ball the dough, cook it for about ten minutes.. and then flatten them with a spatula and put them back in. They cook best with this method I've discovered. Good luck :)

Gluten-Free Baking by Rebecca Riley is a great cookbook--you can use powder egg replacer (you mix it with oil or water, usually) for any recipe that calls for eggs. Check the egg replacer boxes carefully, though--cause some contain wheat.

My son is also allergic to peanuts and some tree nuts. He was VERY allergic to egg whites when he was 1 and now he is 10 and has totally outgrown the egg. I suggest you join the Food Allergy Network. They send a newsletter every month with lots of recipes. They might even have some online. You can make cookies with Egg Replacer. You can find it at any health food store, Mrs. Greens etc... There is a great line called Cherrybrook that makes cake mixes and other goodies. They carry them at Stop n Shop. Good luck!!

My daughter is allergic to milk, egg and soy. I don't have any recipes but there are two good places that have allergy free things. The first is Enjoy Life products, and Cherrybrook kitchen. These products are sold at hannofords. Also, they are on line. They havr cake mixes, cookie, brownie mixes,frosting and lots of others. You can also buy on line too. A bit more pricy though. My son has the same allergies minus the wheat. His are all catergory 6 though. It's certainly scary. We have found some great snack alternatives. Cherrybook Kitchen makes some wonderful cakes, pancakes, and cookie mixes. We initally bought these products at the local health food store but Stop & Shop just starting carrying them and for a bit less. Hugga Bears also makes great cookies which are like animal crackers and my kids flip for them! We have had the most luck at the health food store and Stop & Shop. They carry great rice pastas and Ragu makes these new pouches with all fresh ingredients and you can just pop it inthe microwave. It doesnt have any cheese or soy which the regular one in the jar has. Hope this helps! And feel free to e-mail if you need any more suggestions.

Hi M. D,

I go to Mrs. Greens Health Food Store and find lots of snacks for my son, who has the same allergies(with the exception of wheat). They have a chocolate chip cookie batter that does not require eggs, milk, butter or soy. Instead it requires Rice Milk & olive oil. They also have a vanilla flavor pancake batter.
You'll get used to reading labels and it gets a lot easier.
