Christmas Present Ideas for Husband?

Ladies, I am at such a loss at what to get my husband for Christmas this year. I don't have a lot to spend and I hate the idea of just a gift card but I am feeling so uncreative and obviously time is ticking. He's very into technology and video games but most of those are out of my price range. I'm just hoping for some inspiration or some spark of idea. Did anyone find something fabulous for their husbands?

What can I do next?

Does he have a favorite TV show? If so, maybe you can pick up some old seasons on DVD. That is what I did for my hubby.

I don't have a specific suggestion, but when I do give presents, it is something to be used for a fun time. A cooler with a note saying, "Take me on a picnic, Dad." Luggage with a note saying, "Let's go to Chicago." Something for the grill with a note saying, "Let's have a barbeque, Dad." So the gift may not be so fun, but the time together with the item in use is something to look forward to.

Of course, having asked for a toilet, I can't wait to see what the note says!

Or can you get tickets for an event? We are giving the family outings, one to see the Nutcracker, and the other to Greenfield Village for their special Victorian Christmas with carolers, a sleigh ride, and fun.

I gave my husband a coffee tasting/making day at the local roastery. He will learn how to make 6 different kinds of coffee and then sample them. It was $78 which might be too pricey but you could ask around at your local cafes and see if they would do something similar on a smaller scale?

This is assuming he likes coffee of course! Just throwing an idea out there. :)

Okay...enough about the coupon books. I bought a "dinner and a movie" gift card for $50 at my drugstore. Eat at Chilis first and then to a movie...tell him you'll sit on the back row!

I spent about $30 to get some nice fleece (on sale) and made my hubby a home-made fleece-tie (no-sew) blanket. It was my 1st time and it was super easy!! If you're interested, you'd need 2 1/2 yards for each side. (I chose one side with a pattern and then the back just a plain color.) All you need is a scissors, a ruler, and google instructions. Good luck! :)

Sounds like my Husband.
Except mine has been a jerk lately.
But I already got him a gift.

But due to our budgets, we agreed to spend only a certain amount, on each other. Spending more for our kids.

Go to Game Stop store. Talk to the guys there, and get him a video game.
"L.A. Noire" is a good game. Crime solving. My Husband liked it. It has good ratings.
If you know what kind of games your Husband likes, then get him that.

At Game Stop, you can get "used" games that are cheaper, AND just as good as new. That is what we get from that store.
The sales guys there, are VERY helpful. I know, I have asked them game questions for my Husband, before.

Or, if your Husband is into Apple/Mac products, get him something from there. Like an iPhone case or something or gift card.

If his love language is Words of Affirmation (if he enjoys your praise) then make a top ten list of the reasons you love him, or why he's a good dad, etc. You can take it to a print shop to have it printed nicely & then frame it in a decent looking frame. Or buy his favorite cereal, socks, lottery tickets, gum...anything small that he really likes. Wrap them individually or make it a treasure hunt. Put special effort into it -- it's really not about the money at Christmas. Bake him something special or make his favorite meal. Go more for love this year! :)

If it's not too late, here is a great list of great gifts for men including the tech types. There are things in every price range. Some of my faves on this list are the flexible tripod, the beertender and DVD sets of his favorite directors or tv series.

We used to love to play cards (pre-kids, when we had so much free time). So I am putting together a game-play gift with 2 person games. Scrabble slam, scattogories and monoply card games, and whatever else I find for 2 players. Hopefully it will encourage us to play together more often, just the two of us. Instead of just going to sleep ;)

How about:

sweats/cozy socks to play his game in
a throw blanket
his fave candy
a framed picture of you & the kids for his desk at work
does he need a new tool?
his fave six pack
does he watch sports? If so, then find a beach towel in the color of his

give him a massage

If he is a PC gamer then you can try Stream. They have tons of games for sale for $5-10. If he is a console gamer then you can try a handmade "date night" voucher. Be creative. Make it like a gift card to use so you take him out for a date night to his favorite restaurant and maybe a movie.
