So What Happened?

I called and they had me come in. They checked me and said everything looks fine. But they told me to get a lot of rest and drink a lot of water.

Agreed, call the doc. I think I was partially dilated the last full month with every one of my kids. If these are regular feeling tightenings, start timing them. I wouldn't go in yet, because it's sooo disappointing if they send you home. Good luck! How exciting!

I would always call my Dr first, unless I was having actual textbook contractions 2 min apart for more than 15 minutes, in *severe* pain, or bleeding... then I would go straight to the hospital.

You could be in labor. I had back labor and it was NOTHING like what they described in the books, yet it was actual 'real' labor.

But you can be dilated to 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4) for weeks and be having braxton hicks contractions. your hips hurt and it hurts to walk and you feel pressure probably because the baby has "dropped". Again, that could mean you have a baby tonight..... or it means you feel like this for the next 3 weeks.

ONLY your ob/gyn can tell you what is going on. So, give them a call, explain EXACTLY what is going on. They may even have you come in and see them to tell where you are.

Good luck!

Definitely call your doctor. Se what she/he says.
IF you are still in extreme pain or discomfort, let your doc know that you are going to the ER. And GO!
Sounds to me like you're getting very close, hon.
Sorry I can't be of more help because I was so sick, I coughed so hard, I broke my water and then was FOR SURE in labor!

Call your Dr.
The last few weeks of being pregnant can just be painful sometimes as the head gets into position and pushes against your pelvis and with your ligaments being all loose to prepare for birth, everything just grinds.
I was 3 cm dilated for the week before I had our son, and it stayed there through most of 36 hrs of labor (the pains were coming every min but I took forever to dilate to 10 cm).
I was SO glad for the epidural - the constant waves of pain were just exhausting me.
The last 5 hrs things finally moved along and our son was born at 9 lbs 1.5 oz.
Call/see your Dr and see that they say.
You don't want to go to the hospital and be sent home again due to false labor.
My Mom was 36 hrs in labor with me, too.
She went to the hospital Christmas Eve and I didn't arrive till 8am day after Christmas.

I would go get checked just to be sure what was going on. I would rather be safe and knowledgeable than wondering.

Hope the baby comes very soon!

I would call. Im sure they will have you come in. With my daughter, she was way different than the other 4!

With her I didn't really have alot of pain, but I had so much pressure "down there" and my stomach was a rock! That lasted on and off for the night then that morning it never stopped. I was more uncomfortable than hurting. Well I called and they said just come in and we will check you.

I got out to the car and then the pain kicked in! My husband had to call the ambulance for me. My contractions started in at 1 min apart... with a 45 min drive to the hospital it was better that way. Thankfully they got me there in 25mins and 15 mins later I was holding my daughter.

Call and go in and get checked. Its better to be safe when it comes to your baby! Good luck

I saw that you posted this question 2 x's. Have you called your doc yet? If you have issues over night there should be an after hours number you can have someone call the doctor.

Good luck!
