Bottles

I am looking for some suggestions on bottles. I was using the medela bottles but now need larger sized bottles since we are doing 6 oz now. My little guy does not like the wide mouth bottles, I think more of the milk is on his chin and under his neck then in his belly. I want something with less air in them but not the liner bottles and I have trouble with the ventaire bottles (I can never get the bottoms on right and they end up leaking) any other suggestions?

What can I do next?

I have to agree. We have used Dr. Browns from the beginning and have had no issues. We just throw them in the dishwasher.

Hi S.,

We used the Dr. Browns for our son. He was VERY gassy and after getting away from the Vent-aire's that worked well until they started leaking after being washed too many times...we switched to Dr. Browns. They are a pain to clean up, but they really worked well with his gas issues. Ha ha.

Oh, tip...if you are or end up using formula, do NOT shake the Dr. Browns with the whole bottle intact, it causes a mess. Mix it with the lids they provide...trust me.

Hi S.-
I have ADVENT and hate them. They leak all the time and don't seal well. My friends told me to switch to Dr. Browns but I have not yet (2nd baby due in June).

150% with the Dr. Brown's!! My first daughter used Avent and she had the same issues with the milk on her chin and neck and also A LOT more spit up. We tried the Avent with our second daughter and will NEVER use any other bottle but Dr. Brown's!! We have been totally pleased! What a difference!!! Less burping, spit up, leaking and a much happier mommy and baby!!

Good luck!!

We use Dr. Brown's and Avent. There are a lot of pieces to Dr. Brown's which can be a pain (we just throw in dishwasher) and confusing to other's who aren't as familiar. Good luck!

Hmm guess I'm the only one that didn't use Avent or Dr Browns. My daughter didn't like the avent, vent air, triflow, gerber, she finally took to the playtex nursers. She's been on them, for 11 months now, & I don't want to switch since I'm trying to ween her off the bottle completely in a few months..

S.,
I used Avent and I know a lot of people think they leak. You need to put the "dome" on top of the nipple assembly and THEN put them on top of the bottle. I think they worked well with my daughter because it gave her lips something to "stop at" when sucking -whereas the evenflow and other smaller nipples she engulfed.

My advice: Buy 1 Doc Brown, 1 avent, and 1 or two others and try them all out. Soon you'll know what works for your baby and then can stock up.

Good Luck!

Diddo on Dr. Brown. I have used them for all my children and they are great. They have lots of pieces to them so it is a paint to wash them, but it is worth it.
