Hi Ladies,

I am wondering if any of you have given birth at St. Anthony North in Westminster or Avista in Louisville? What was your experience like? Did you like the hospital? Did you like your doctor? Would you recommend either? Thanks so much for your help!T.

I have delivered 2 babies at Avista, and my Dr. was Dr. Huynh from Avista Women's care. Dr. Moeller actually delivered my 2nd b/c he came so quickly, and she was also great. All of the Drs. there are awesome. I had a C-section the first time and VBAC the second, and all of the nurses were wonderfulm. Plus, the lactation consultants are both very experienced and empathetic. Both of my babies had to go into the NICU, and the nurses as well as the care, were wonderful there, too. I would do it again (but I'm not!). The food was also very good. Let me know if you have any more questions. We also picked a ped that was located at Avista, so she was always able to swing by and check the babes out readily.

I've not delivered at Avista, but I did go to the ER once and it was disgusting. (Poop from a previous patient on the floor.) I was the only patient but it still took 4 hours. I know that doesn't say much for the ob floor, but that's my input on it.

I delivered at Boulder Community Foothills and it was AWESOME!!! If you're up for it, it's totally worth the drive. Plotnick is a great doctor there and so is Jensen.

T.,
I have not delivered at Avista, but have been a doula a couple of time for women birthing at Avista. It is a good hospital and open to helping moms create the birth experience they want. Dr. Christensen comes highly recommended - as she has was recommended many times on this list. I am sorry I cannot offer any info on St. Anthony's North.

I delivered at Avista. Everyone there was so great. I would definitely recommend this hospital. I had Dr. Moeller as my OB and she was the best. She was supportive and caring during my delivery and handled a scary situation calmly.

I delivered at Avista with Dr. Carole Christensen. She and the hospital were both great! I highly recommend them both. St. Anthony's North is a good hospital, too. I like Dr. Jenny Cooper there. However, they don't do many of their own deliveries, it falls to the on-call doctor.

I delivered at St. Anthony North and feel it's a great hospital. My ob was Dr. Lindholm and as an RN am hypercritical of staff and the skill level of others in the medical field. I had major complications with my body handling birthing and the hospital and staff were well equiped to handle my issues which should be something you evalute when choosing a facility. I would deliver there again if I'm so lucky to have another and I would choose any of the md's in the women's health specialist group ###-###-####. Good luck!
