Hi--

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good double stroller that can be used for jogging, fit through doorways (while shopping), and can fit a toddler and infant comfortably. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I love my Phil and Ted's Sport. I think it's the new version of the e3. I wish that I had started with this instead of the three doubles I went through to get to it. I had a hard time bring myself to spend the money, but it was well worth it. It's light weight, steers great, works as a double or a single. I can actually open a store door by myself and push it the stroller through if i don't have anyone around to help. It pushes just like a single. The negatives I've heard are that the break is awkward to use, the sun visor is small, and it's a narrow seat. The first is true, the break is difficult. The sun visor doesn't rezally matter to me and s far the seat seems fine. In all, I think the positives far outway the negatives.

I'm not ssure of any name brands, but I can tell that Once Upon a Child often has brand new ones and that you could "test drive" there in the store. The cost is not as much as in department stores.--The only caution I have for the side by side strollers is that they don't fit through doorways as well and it's better to get the front to back double strollers. I have a JEEP brand, double stroller, and it is good for walking the neighborhood ( which I do a lot: 15 miles a week) and for shopping--folds pretty well and gets into the van well--but any double stroller is going to be bulky. :) For instance, it does not fit in the car trunk well--something else to consider. And finally, depending on the age of your children and the desire to get a double stroller for shopping, most stores have double strollers or a cart that can be uised, and so much better to maneuver in tight spaces--the museum and the zoo also have them ( for a small fee). So, you may not need a double stroller as much for the shopping. I have boys that are 15 months a part and we do really well to use carts--even at the grocery store.--Thanks for reading this babble--hope it helps :)

We have the Instep Ultra and love it. It is so light, it is actually lighter then my single jogger (without the kids in it of course!). My 2 year old hope in and out on his own and my 6 mo old also happily enjoys the ride. I have had no problems getting through any doors. I got mine from Amazon, and got a great deal, I think it was on sale for $150 with free shipping. joggingstroller.com is a great site where you can get side by side comparisons of the strollers and read parent reviews. It was a big help for us.

I had a double jogging stroller but the front wheel did not turn making it very difficult to turn corners. Make sure the front wheel/wheels turn.

I don't know if Valco is used for jogging, but it's been an amazing double stroller for my family for long walks. You can even add a toddler seat on top if you have another baby.

I LOVE my double stroller. It's a Mountain Buggy. It cost a small fortune but it's great! It just fits through doorways and is super easy to push, it turns on a dime. It also has a 4 or 5 point harness. The only thing negative really is that it is kind of heavy and big to be lifting in and out of the car.

The Valco Twin Runabout stroller is the best stroller I've ever used. It even accommodates an infant seat even though it is a side by side. It also allows you to add a third raised toddler seat if you ever needed to get 3 kids around. It is extremely durable, fits through all aisles and doors and is great for jogging. Like all double strollers, it is a little heavy, but the pros way outweigh the cons!

Hi M.,

I have a friend who has the Phil & Ted stroller - a great double jogging stroller that is the size of a single. (Here is a link to their website: http://www.philandteds.com/nz/index.htm) You can find them online at several baby supply retailers. If you are looking for a great double stroller that folds compactly (can't be used for jogging though), I have the Maclaren Twin Techno and love it!

Good luck!

I have the Safari TT Double Jogger it is GREAT!! I have a almost 3 yr old who weights 34 lbs and a 2 month old, I can push the stroller with one finger. I love it. It fits exactly through door ways so you have to be precise on getting straight in. I LOVE it. I have seen moms with other doubles struggeling to push 2 kids in there strollers and I just dont have that problem.
I bought mine from Amazon.com with free shipping for $150.00. Here is a picture and I found it for $179.00

I LOVE my BOB double stroller. It has a very easy to use lock on the front wheel so you can use it for a jogger or regular stroller. It is sooooo easy to maneuver. I did some research and the BOB Revolution was the highest rated double stroller. I bought mine on e-bay so it was a little cheaper than buying it from a store. It was not cheap ($400) but I think it is well worth it because makes a huge difference trying to push around two kids!

I have the Baby Jogger City Series double and love it. It has 4 wheels but you can use it for jogging as the front wheels can lock. It is 29" so it fits through standard doorways, and it's very easy to fold. It also reclines so you can use it for an infant.

We have the Phil & Ted's e3 buggy and it can be converted to a double stroller for a toddler/infant combo and then for two toddlers. We're expecting our second in May and I can't wait to try out the double feature. Because the second child rides "under" the first, this stroller is as narrow as a double as it is a single. I think it's brilliant. I *think* this one can be used for jogging, but it would be easier if you are not tall. If you have a long stride, you might bump the basket/second seat. The front wheel either swivels or you can lock it for jogging.
