2 Year Old Birthday Party

Try for a cookout at the park. That way all the kids have something to do and the adults enjoy talking and such. We've always had a great time doing things like this. Hope this helps. Shannon G.

My childrens birthdays are all in the summer. We have had there parties at local parks. The kids have lots of fun the grownups can talk you can grill and the best 2 parts are: no mess to clean up and its free. You can reserve a pavillion if you prefer. The weather is nice enough and does'nt enjoy a good BBQ.

Indoor places: Mcdonalds,chuckey cheese, skate rinks, bowling alleys, there's even a bounce around place.

I always have my daughters birthday party at a park because hers is in June. Depending on the month you could do the same thing. Or you could go to your local sports center, like Sports Plus in Evendale on Reading Rd. They have all kinds of games and those crawling tubes that hte little ones like so much. You can even go in there with them!

How about the Children's Museum? My 18 mos. old loves Playscape there and I am considering it for her 2nd birthday. Look at the website, I think they can do up to 20 guests and can have a theme and all. Another idea is the zoo- I don't know when his birthday is but the koalas come at the end of the month. I agree with the park idea. Many parks have shelters you can rent so you don't have to worry about rain. You can keep the party really simple by just serving sandwiches, chips, fruit, and veggies. Of course, picking up a pizza on the way to the park can be really easy too. Parks are a lot cheaper than restaurants, too. Besides, who doesn't like the park? =)

Chuck E Cheese would probably be perfect for the kids of that age group.

Mcdonald's and Chuck E Cheese are always good ideas and they usually have some type of party package. You can bring your own cake also.

If it's warm enough(don't know when in May your son's birthday falls) check into reserving a shelter house at a local park. We did this for our son's first b-day and it worked great, infact we're using the shelter house at a different park this year b/c it worked so well. Ask if either set of grandparents would be willing to host the party at their house. Another option is your church. Depending on your church some will allow you to host something there(we use to attend a small church and they allowed people to have small gatherings in the basement). Our McDoanld's has a room you reserve for parties and they have an indoor play ground, don't know how many children will be coming but they would love it. These are just a few ideas off the top of my head. Hope this helps.

Take them to Cunck-E- Cheese. We did my grandaughters 2nd birthday party there and they loved it. You can take your own cake and stuff so you dont have to buy the birthday package that's what we did.

If you can afford it, Chuck E Cheese is a big hit in our house. I think they have packages for a crowd of people. Or maybe at a relatives house after you guys are settled into your new home. Also, my daughter got overwhelmed when we had too many people at her party, unless they're family, I suggest two friends his own age and keep the party an hour or two.

I think you would enjoy having the baby's party at the park. You can rent a pavillion indoor or outdoor. Its so much easier to clean up!

Okay, the idea of having a birthday party for the child is great. We all do it. Looking at 15 to 18 people and children from 4 months to 11 all enjoying themselves at a restaurant???? Chuckie Cheese will appeal to the older children but is a bit much for the little ones, isn't it? To say nothing of the adults who will be there enjoying less than great food and the noise will be h*** o* the little ones to say nothing of the amount of time spent there and the expense. McDonalds is just fine again for the children of 3 and up but not a lot of fun for the older ones.

I would try to plan a picnic at a local park area. The children of all ages can do whatever they like, activity area, nature walk, tag, whatever, and the adults can enjoy the time together in a fresh air environment.

Children at 2 aren't aware of the date of their birthday, really, are they? I have a 28 year old, a 26 year old, and a 9 year old. Believe me, until they were in school the actual week of their birthday didn't mean much to them. Have the party earlier or later, they don't care.

I would suggest you put the party off until after you are settled in your new home. Unless you are moving so far away most of the people you are inviting just can't come. Even then the age discrepancies is the children will be a problem for you.

I am not sure how much money you are willing to spend but The Great Wolf Lodge is great for all ages. We never had a party there but we do go and stay there for a weekend every winter. Our kids are 10,6 and 2. Or if the weather is nice you can have it at a park and cook out. My cousin had a baby shower at Mill Hollow park and she had a pavillion right next to the play area and it only cost her I think $25. Good luck finding a good place.

Find a nice park. Kids of all ages love the outdoors. The temp. should be ideal. If it is raining there are still lots of games that can be played in the shelter. The kids seem to always be very happy to just run around!!

When my son turned two at the end of last month we had his party at Chuck E Cheeses's.
He loved it. :)
It wasn't too expensive either- we didn't buy food for all the guests.

If you live in the Columbus area there is a place in Powell (Sawmill road) called My Gym. I went to a party there for a friend who's son was 1 and all the kids had a great time!

Hello! Happy Birthday to your little one! I'm not sure where you are located but my suggestion is to have it at the Graeters on Bethel. It's adorible! It has a little playground and two different party rooms. Also, its not sensory overload like a lot of other places.

I think one of the best places to have a bday party for kids is in a public park (if the weather cooperates). Then you have free access to playground equipment for the kiddos, you don't have to worry about clean up your house before and after, you don't have to worry about something getting destroyed in your house, and at a park there's plenty of space for everyone! Lots of parks rent public picnic shelters that usually even have a charcoal grill and sometimes some even have electricity! My son is turning one in July and I just reserved a shelter in our local park! I can't wait! There will be lots of kids there (nieces and nephews) and I know they will appreciate having the wonderful playground right next to the picnic shelter. Good luck with your son's bday!

Do you have a local/nearby park that has lots of playthings for kids?

(doesn't cost a thing)...just take your chances on the weather!!

You could also do lots of outdoor games/bubbles for the littler ones at the park!

chucky cheese & discovery zone are really awesome for kids birthdays, my son loved having his there so much we're doing it again this summer.

My hands down favorite location ever is The Little Gym of Polaris. They do everything for you...you just show up with whatever treat you're serving, relax, and have fun and actually ENJOY the party, too!

Their instructors do age-appropriate activities with the group (request The Bat Song), they make the list of gifts for thank you's, provide paper products, juice and balloons, and do every single bit of the set up and clean up. You seriously need to do nothing but bring a cake and HAVE FUN.

I have used them twice and they are at the top of our list of favorites. One year they even helped me make favors. I ordered water bottles from them, and their instructors stuffed them with the candy and treats I provided, tied the balloons they provide onto the water bottles, and set them up on the tables in the area where the treats and gifts are done.

chuck e cheese, or the zoo is a good place to have a birthday.(Most zoo's have a birthday planner, most will not allow straws, but sippy cups for the kids are acceptable.) Some McDonalds, do birthdays. Also at a local park where kids can play on the playground to work off the sugar from the cake.

There is a place in Hartville called Jump It - pretty fun place to hold a party and it is great for any age child

I don't know where you are in relation to Indianapolis, but I have a GREAT suggestion for you.

My daughter just turned 2 yesterday and we had her party on Monday (scheduling issues prevented it from being last night). We took her to a place called Best Fun Party Company. It's on the east side of town. They have inflatables for kids (and adults too, lol) to play around on. One of them is the bouncy room thing. It's called a MoonWalk, I think. There is also a giant slide. They also have games like at Chuck E Cheese wher you use quarters and win tickets to turn in for prizes (great for the older ones). A party there is $150/2 hours. You get pizza for 10 kids ($5/each over 10), the party room, a nice cake set-up (cake, candles not included) and a 15-minute appearance by a character (Sponge Bob, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, etc). I can't remember if there was more that came with it, but if you're interested, I can get you more info.

I don't know how close you are to Orrville, but Put N Stuff is a nice place not very crowded like Chuck E Cheese or a McDonalds play land is great too. Hope this helps

My four year old daughter's birthday is coming up in May. We've done the backyard parties in the past but the set-up and clean-up take away from the fun of the day. This year we have rented a tent at the zoo. The kids can see a dolphin show, feed the giraffes, ride the train and enjoy lunch with birthday cake in a shaded area. The best part is that at the end of the party-- we just get in the car and go home!

You can have a party anywhere—there are some good options out there including just a park near your house since the weather seems to be warmer these days. Both Gymboree and Kindermusic locations offer rooms for birthday parties. We went to a Build a Bear party at the mall and just used the food court for the festivities afterwards. I am a party co-ordinator with a 19 year old daughter and a wonderful husband. Have you thought about Chuck e. Cheese, or Mcdonalds with a play area, or if the weather is nice how about a psrk. 2 year olds. don't remember their parties and too many people can over whelm a child. At a kids restuarant they not only provide the cake and decorations but there are things to keep the kids entertained, and someone else does the cleanup. thats wonderful. If you go to a park you only need a few balloons maybe a tablecloth for the picnic table. Cleanup is easy to. The last thing you want the day before you move is alot of stress. Make the day fun and easy and you and your child will enjoy the day as well as have fun. Good luck.

My daughter just had her birthday party at McDonalds. I am not one for fast food but all the kids loved it. My daughter is only 1 but there were 12 kids between ages 10 months through 9 years old. If you can find a restaurant that has a play area. The package I paid for was $65 which included birthday child's meal and 9 others, goody bag, cake(they provide the candles), crown and wand for my daughter to wear i don't know what they do for the boys, and a hostess to do everything(meal ordering, drinks, cake, clean up, and anything else). I had about 30 adults there and the 12 kids. I paid for everyones drinks if they wanted to eat they would have to pay for their meals. I paid for three extra children, everyone's drinks, and an extra cake my bill was $108.50 didn't have to clean up and I was catered to, along with my daughter. Well worth it. All the kids enjoyed themselves. Just call and they will give you the details at any McDonald's.

Idea #1--Go to a playground with both toddler and bigger kid climbing sets. (Twinsburg has these at Chamberlin Park, Liberty Park and Glenwood Park, if you are near here.)

Idea #2--Memphis Kiddie Park has rides geared for up to 5 or 6 year olds, but they also have a miniature golf course for the older kids. It's located near the Tiedeman Rd. exit to 480--turn right and go 1 mile to the end of the road, make a left on Memphis, and the park is right there! They have concessions, or bring a picnic and eat at the Metropark next door.

Idea #3--Take them to the Zoo!

Have the birthday party at Chick-fil-A if you have one in your city! They do the best parties. Usually the cow comes out to dance with the kids, but if your 2 year old is scared, you can ask them to forego the cow appearance. I will be celebrating my daughter's 2nd birthday in June, and she is very afraid of the cow right now, even though her Daddy works at Chick-fil-A and she's seen the cowsuit all of her life! At our CFA, all the kids get a balloon and a minimoo.(small stuffed cow) and i a kids' ice cream too. have fun! =)

If you're anywhere near Columbus, Dayton, or Cincinnati, to go CiCi's pizza. They are by far the cheapest and they have tv with cartoons and they have small game room.
