Recommendations for Pediatrician and OB Gyn in Kennesaw/Marietta/Woodstock!

Hi there! We just moved to the area and I need your recommendations for a pediatrician and/or OB Gyn or midwife that you love. Even telling me your bad experiences would be useful to cross people off the list. My insurance is pretty common so I don't think I'll run into problems there. We live in Marietta but I'm open to driving a ways for someone great if I need to. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

I go to Dr. Donnelly at North Atlanta Women's Specialists and have always had a great experience there. He is a very caring doctor and has delivered my two girls.

I love my OB Gyn (Dr. Angela Hudson--too bad she isn't near you!) and our pediatricians. We go to Kennesaw Pediatrics in Kennesaw. They have a website:
www.kennesawpediatrics.com

They are quick to return phone calls and have always taken my concerns seriously. I'm not overly fond of giving my children medication, so I like the fact that their first response isn't always, "Oh, there's a pill for that." We had a lot of feeding issues with my middle daughter and Dr. Long was on top of it and offered lots of support. They have a fun waiting room (with separate sick/well rooms) as well as a newborn entrance. They also have a Facebook page, so plenty of places to go and check them out. Hope this helps!

We go to Northside Pediatrics in woodstock. As someone else mentioned you can always get in for a same day sick appt. and they have Sat. sick hours.

I love my OBGYN practice, Roswell OBGYN, they have locations in woodstock, alpharetta, cumming and near Northside on Peachtree Dunwoody. All of the Drs. and midwives are great and have delived my two babies. My favorites are Dr. Melissa Parker, Dr. Angela Nix, and Dr. Richard Robbins (he is so funny if you don't mind seeing a man). The nice thing about the Woodstock office is it is small and you never have to wait long for your appt. All the Drs. have impressive resumes and education from top schools.

I have had a great experience with Woodstock Pediatric Medicine. I love the fact that I can get in the same day for s sick appt and they even have saturday sick hours in the morning. I can't count the accidents or fevers I've had to call on a saturday morning to get in. I go when I have to to the urgent care but many times it's waiting for hours mainly when the flu is at it's peak, so these doctors have save me and my other children from sitting at an urgent care for hours and making ourselves exposed to even more sick people.
They have a website it's http://www.woodstockpeds.com
they are a group to consider.
Best wishes...

Hi R.,

I too have a 10 month old and live in Kennesaw. My ped is KennMar Pediactics and my son sees Dr. Amy Kewin. We love her and we hold off on vacinations and she doesn't push the issue with us.
As far as OB/GYN's, I recommend Kennestone OB/GYN and Kim Long is the midwife there I love. I am a Labor Doula and have worked with a lot of practices. Kim Long and I met during several births I attended and now we are good friends. I lost my baby girl in July 07 at 37 weeks and the practice was so caring and sensitive to my situation. If you have questions about other practices and doctors, feel free to email me, chances are I have worked with them or know little about them.
Best of Luck,
T.

I live in East Cobb/Marietta, and welcome!

Loved Wellstar OB/GYN ###-###-#### across street from Kennestone hospital -- all doctors and midwives were very open to my needs and suggestions RE my care and the hospital was also very accomodating of my desire for no epidural or pain meds (they give me 4x the typical reaction -- found that out with first birth) where Northside hospital and Atlanta OB/GYN barely listened.

Also love Kennesaw Pediatrics ###-###-#### and Dr Thrower there -- even the office staff and nurses are very open and accomodating, and non-judgemental of my need for a delayed vaccination schedule for my 2yr son.
