Need a New Gynecologist

Due to relocating my doctor is further than I want to travel. Can anyone recommend a great female gynecologist in the Plainfield area? So far I've only gotten referrals for men, and I really want it to be a woman.

Thanks in advance!
L.

Lynn,
I guess one thing you may want to start wiuth is which hospital do you want them to be associated with? I had a baby in May and enjoyed my OB Gyny office. They are at the south end of Naperville. Not very far form you at all. I live at the south end of Plainfield and the drive was not bad at all. They have a few women and a few men there. I was able to met all of the docs and there was not one that I would not have been happy with for delivery. Dr. Frangella is the female who delivered my daughter and was there for me for my follow up GYNY appointments. All the docs had a great "bed side manner." Their number is ###-###-####. They also have an office at Edward Hospital. Hope this helps!
Take Care,
M.

I recently moved to Plainfield and didn't want to travel to Berwyn for my doctor so I went to Corwin Clinic on Rte. 59 & Renwick. Dr. Wilk and Dr. Whately are just wonderful. I know it's a clinic but they treat you like a private doctors office would. Dr. Whatley will be going on maternity leave in about two months but she is just great. I would highly recommend you give either a try. Dr. Whatley's nurse Laura is just simply the best nurse that I've had to deal with thoughout my years of going to the gynecologist - she is so caring and they just take their time to really make sure every question that you have is answered.

Dr. Frangella is great! She is located at a few different offices, but the two I go to most often are at Route 59 & 103rd (South Naperville) and the one located right on Edward Hospital's medical campus. There is a big group of doctors there (part of Dupage Medical Group) and you pick which doctor you want to see. She has two small kids of her own so if you're planning on more kids she is great with pain management and planning your options.
Good luck! ###-###-#### and the South Naperville office is called Rolling Ridge when booking appointment.

I go to Edward Women's Center. They have offices in Plainfield (127th east of rt 30), Naperville and Bolingbrook(Weber Rd across from Meijer). My Dr. is Dr. Linda Anderson since 1996(love her)and they have Dr. Rajendran(woman dr) and 2 men as well as many Nurse Practioners. Their # is ###-###-####. They can make appointments for any of the offices just tell them which one you want to go to. HTH

Sorry I can't recommend one in your area but have you considered a midwife? You sound pretty adamant about not wanting a man, so I'm sure you'd like a midwife's gentle, natural approach. I used midwives for my prenatal and delivery with my daughter, and I could not have been happier with the whole process.
They do well-women care too. Typically, they work in cooperation with an OB/GYN who they refer to if there are any problems, like an abnormal pap result.

I would love to talk more about it if you like!

hi...if you don't mind driving a little bit, there is a great ob-gyn in minooka...dr. setrini-best. she is wonderful- very caring and approachable...she works out of morris hospital. she is in a group with 2 men, so if you were to have a baby, there is a chance you would have one of the men. but one of the men, dr. egglesfield, is also amazing- he deliverd my son! good luck!

If you are close to route 30 or 47 for that matter in Plainfield Rush Copley in Aurora may not be a bad drive for you. It is right on route 34, on the Oswego Aurora border. Dr. Andrea Jones is wonderful, so wonderful in fact that I am planning on keeping her as my gyne even though I am moving to Brookfield.
