my 14mo dd has had about three days of super soft to diareha (sp) poops. nothing has changed in her diet except that I noticed today that she is getting 4 molars in on her bottom jaw. can the teeth coming in cause this disruption in her b.m.? she is sleeping like a champ 12 hrs not waking and is naping for 2 hrs in the afternoon.
Yes,I always knew when my son was teething by his loose stools.
How lucky are you that this is the only way she is being affected.
My son really suffered,sleepless nights,running nose,cough,loose stools.

my two girls always had loose stools when teething. Don't know why, but my MIL said it was normal.
Yes. And most doctors will tell you that it isn't because of teething, but they are wrong.
I personally think it's where they produce excess saliva because of the teething and when they swallow the extra slobber, it upsets their little tummies.
A slight fever also is not unusual. Fever is an inflammatory response, and I'm sure you've seen how red her little gums are!

I forgot to mention that sometimes "teething diapers" smell different. I can tell when my son is about to cut a tooth because his BMs are much looser and they have a certain smell.
I knew every time my daughter got diarrhea that she was getting a tooth.
She got the one just before the other started happening. Every single time.
Totally normal. They make a lot more saliva when they're teething which effects their tummies, which effects the other end.
Teething really is awful for everybody. She'll get through it.

Happened with my daughter. She also had a mild fever & was a little cranky, but as soon as the teeth cut, she was back to normal.
